Helping Hands Coronavirus Response
Helping Hands Veterinary Care is continuing to follow the constant stream of news and information emerging about Coronavirus (COVID-19). The health, safety and well being of our staff, our patients and the community continue to be our number one priority. We are closely monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and state and local health officials for guidance to inform our decisions.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread and raise concerns, causing many hospitals near us to close. Helping Hands wants to continue to be a valuable resource for our veterinary community.
WE HAVE TEMPORARILY EXTENDED OUR HOURS TO HELP NON-ELECTIVE SURGICAL CASES
We are aware that some clinics and hospitals may have staff shortages or may have to restrict patient services during this time. As a way to try and maintain coverage for non-elective surgeries and provide necessary patient care for our community, we are implementing some changes.
We have split our staff into two teams that will be working separately Monday- Saturday 7:30am-7:30pm to better accommodate non-elective surgical cases. This ensures that, should some of our staff become sick, we will still be able to provide emergency coverage.
We have also changed some of our in-hospital protocols to reduce staff exposure risk.
We will offer this service on a trial basis through April 3rd and potentially longer depending on community need, or unless other circumstances force us to change our protocol.
We understand that this is a rapidly changing situation. If you have any questions about our new hours or a specific case, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for your consideration,

I have an appointment on May 7 for dental’s for two of my dogs. I just want to confirm that this appointment is still scheduled as it’s an hour and a half drive for me to bring them. Also, are there any special protocols that you have implemented on the day of the service, i.e., am I allowed to enter the building or will you take the dogs for me? Is there any paperwork that you could email me that I could fill out in advance of the appointment to shorten the amount of time for check-in?
Thank you!
