You’ll need fuel for your adventures and we have three great options for you…it’s Breakfast Time in RVA!
Option Number One for Breakfast Time in RVA
Breakfast Time in RVA at Red Cap Patisserie
If you don’t usually have a traditional breakfast, but prefer to grab a fresh pastry instead…O.M.G…let us introduce you to the new kid on the block, Red Cap Patisserie! Their name is a nod to the French revolution and they challenge their patrons to “Liberate your Palate!”. Owner and Pastry Chef Martine serves some of the most amazing French style pastries you may ever have the pleasure of eating—worth every carb!
Sweets are not necessarily your thing? Not to worry, she makes the most delectable savory hand pies called tourtieres (described on her menu as a classic French Canadian treat)! She has something for every palate with offerings such as potato cheddar onion, chicken bacon peas, pork plum pear, and more.
To get to Red Cap, you turn left out of the Helping Hands parking lot, make another left at the intersection, and drive straight. At the second light, you will continue to go straight through the intersection. Immediately, you will see a 7 Eleven. Red Cap Patisserie is a little store front directly across from the 7 Eleven parking lot. Enjoy!
Option Number Three for Breakfast in RVA
You never know who you may see having breakfast at Perly’s
We have given you traditional, we have given you pastries, and now we give you a special and unique breakfast experience. Perly’s, at 111 E Grace St serves “traditional Jewish cuisine, with a modern twist“. Whether you choose the Cinnamon Babka French Toast or the Benny Goodman (2 potato latkes with smoked salmon, poached eggs, dill hollandaise and salmon roe) Perly’s offers a bevy of thoughtful, out of the ordinary options.
The decor is charming and the staff is happy to answer any questions. They won the Elby Award (RVA’s Food Oscars) for Best Everyday Casual. A political analyst for MSNBC said “this is one of the greatest breakfast places in the country“. Just like City Diner, Perly’s is also open for lunch and the Washington Post called their matzo ball soup a “game-changer“. This place is slightly farther than the others but is a great example of why RVA has become such a Foodie destination city.
